The Mississauga Fencing Club introduces the "Foil Champions League", 8-10 tournaments, organized mainly for training purpose. The League is open for more advanced foil fencers, men and women.
The best 5 tournaments will count for the final ranking in the fencing season.
After these tournaments (mixed), top 16 men and top 16 women will compete in the Finals for Medals and Prizes. Finals will take place in the Spring

RULES
FORMAT
1st round
All participating fencers will be divided into poules of 6, 7, or 8, and will fence round robin for 5 points. Fencers ranked (after the first round) from 1 to 16, will continue tournament in Division A, and those ranked 17 and up will continue in Division B.
Division A
One poule of 16 - round robin for 5 points, then direct elimination for 15 points - for each place. Sitting in tableau will depend on the results in the poule of 16. Results from both parts of Division A will count for the final placement.
Division B
Direct elimination for 15 points - for each place. Sitting in tableau will depend on the results in the 1st round: 17 will become #1, 18 will become #2 etc. Only results from DE will count for the final placement in Division B.
Finals - Mixed for 16 best Men and Women.
Direct Elimination only: 2 or 3 bouts for 15 points each - in top 8 for each place. Sitting in tableau will depend on the final ranking from 6 best out of 10-12 tournaments.

EQUIPMENT & JUDGING
Tournaments
Fencing white jacket and a plastron. Long track pants allowed. Electric equipment required.
Masks check. Equipment will be checked on the piste.

Complete fencing outfit.
Masks check. Equipment will be checked on the piste.
Judging by participants. Finals will be judged by Provincial Referees.

The fee for each event is $10, payable by cash only before the tournament.
